The following items were considered at the latest meeting.
Gutters
Work starts on Monday and probably will take 7-10 days. There will inevitably be some inconvenience and your patience will be appreciated. If it causes you problems please contact Dennis.
Door security
The first of the specialists consulted has reported and suggested a wired system to one door in each block with standard locks on the other doors with a price of £3144 (£150 per flat).
The wireless system we looked at was £4899 (£233 per flat). Further information is awaited. Meanwhile you will have a chance to express your views on this issue and others in our survey of opinions that will be sent out shortly.
Budget 2006
At our next meeting (see below for details) consideration will be given to a draft of next year’s maintenance budget. The budget will be finalised at the following meeting in November.
Flowerbed
The budget will include a sum of £360 to renovate the flowerbed adjacent to the rose bed. At present it contains a very sad looking mahonia and little else. The proposal is to remove the shrub and cut back the walnut and fill the bed with summer and winter flowering heathers of varying heights.
Gate
A quote has been received for the gate and matching fence by the small car park. It is £980. It has already been agreed to proceed with this project in the New Year.
