The following items were considered at the latest meeting.
Budget 2006
The budget outlined in the previous newsletter was approved with only one change.
A recent tree survey has identified the need for some substantial remedial work. The more urgent work will be done in the New Year at a cost of approx. £1700. The cost will be met by re-assigning money budgeted for future car park re-surfacing and re-decorations. The less urgent work will be scheduled for early 2007 at a cost of approx. £1750 and will be included in the 2007 budget.
Opinion survey
Although only a third of shareholders returned their survey forms some had spoken to committee members and others were present at the meeting today. Thank you to all of you who made your views known. Generally speaking the results tended to confirm that the views voiced regularly at meetings are representative. The views expressed will be borne in mind in the future as and when spending decisions are made.
Water rates
Well done Dennis for managing to persuade the water authorities that LRA shouldn’t be charged for sewerage since we don’t generate any. The £300 rebate won’t go far but it’s better in our accounts than those of Thames Valley Water.
Year end lunch
Everyone is invited to join the Chairman and committee for drinks and lunch after the next meeting. It will be at the Southern Cross Hotel at 12.00 on Sunday 11 December.
Whilst you will have to pay for your own food the sparkling company is free and the Chairman might buy you a drink! If you would like to attend please tell Tony (tel: 221155) so that he can reserve sufficient space.
