The following items were considered at the latest meeting.
Bins. Advice from the Council that one of the bins in block 1/9 is unsafe despite its recent repair has led to the decision to replace both in the near future. Initially the new bins will be rented.
The bins in block 10/22 are fine for now but please be careful not to over fill them because they can get top heavy and be prone to toppling when moved.
Exterior Lights. It has been agreed to put an additional light on block 1/9 to enhance lighting of the path at the western end and part of the car park. Cost approx. £150.
Parking. The first of the new yellow lines have been laid down. More will follow.
Lawns. It’s been decided that all the previously agreed remedial work will be carried out this spring. Please note that we can expect the grass to look awful immediately after the treatment but rest assured that it should quickly return to good condition.
Fridge. We have been unable to identify who left an old fridge in the bin store of block 10/22 and as a result the cost of its removal will be met from LRA funds unless the guilty party owns up.
Planning Application. No date has yet been set for the appeal hearing for the proposed development on the Langley Rd/Langwood Gardens corner site. However, it is encouraging to report the developer, Banner Homes, has indicated a willingness to re-submit the application with amendments that could go a long way towards addressing our concerns.
FPRA. We have affiliated to the Federation of Private Resident’s Associations. Cost is £35 pa. It is a non-profit making body and has over 300 organisations like ours in membership. The FPRA newsletter will appear on our web-site soon.
New Lease. All 21 flats have now completed the move to the new lease. You may recall that the project began in early 2001. The total cost to LRA was £4675.
AGM. Please make a note in your diary that the AGM of LRA Limited will be held on Wednesday,
19 May, 2004 at 8pm in flat no.11. A formal notice and an agenda will be sent to all leaseholders nearer the time.
Next Meeting: Sunday, 9th May 2004 at 10.30 in flat no.7.
