Dated 2nd July 2006
The Residents’ Association welcomes everyone’s contribution. If you have a problem, suggestion or news please contact a Committee member. They are: Jim Hurson (flat 6) Shirley Batten-Smith (flat 7) Syd Hall (flat 9) and Paul Ryzman (flat 11)
Also on the committee are the Directors of Langwood Residents Association Ltd who are:
Tony Batten-Smith (flat 7) Alan Goodridge (flat 21) and Stephanie Beardsworth (flat 22).
Our Managing Agent is Dennis Brooke of Qualitas Residential telephone: 01923 211331
The following items were considered at the latest meeting.
Gates
The recent locking of the gates caused more inconvenience than before and the need for this periodic exercise will be kept under review.
Residents are reminded that trespassers, especially youngsters on bicycles, are encouraged if they can see the gates are not locked so it is important to remember to close the gates after you.
Signs saying ‘Langwood Residents Only’ are to be fixed to the gates in due course. They will be at eye level.
Plans for a third gate (in the wall on Langley Road) are still on track.
Gardens
Concern has been voiced that the work of the gardeners is falling short of expectations. When our present agreement was established it included a detailed job list and whilst some tasks are completed well others seem to be slipping. Dennis has been asked to draw their attention to the problem and to review their performance with them.
Swamp
A reasonably priced solution is still being sought for this problem. Dennis has now been asked to cost a plan that involves covering the area with a porous matting that would be covered by stones with shrubs suitable to the dark and damp conditions growing through.
