The following items were considered at the latest meeting.
Work completed
BT cables - the work in block 1/9 is complete. Manhole covers - replacement is complete.
Gutters
The work is due to start on 5 September.
Banner Homes
The Council has said that the felling of the roadside tree was planned. Banner has dropped the idea of laying pipes over our property.
Outstanding
Still waiting for quotes on the second gate and car park re-surfacing. A report on door security is being sought.
Cavity Wall Insulation (CWI)
You may remember that last year we were quoted £7K for both blocks. That seemed attractive as a solution to damp and condensation problems and as a way to reduce the ever-increasing costs of heating. Any holes in the walls could be repaired at the same time. It has been decided to put in into the budget for next year.
Your views
It’s been decided to canvass the views of all Langwood leaseholders on future spending plans. The formal survey will start later this month with the aim of completion before the budget process starts. So if you have views on security, CWI, or any other issues this is your opportunity to speak up.
Similar exercises have been carried out in the past and proved a useful way of gauging opinion and setting priorities for spending. Remember it’s your money that is being spent!
Apples
The fruit is starting to fall from the trees so please feel free to harvest it if you feel so inclined – it will only rot otherwise.
Paul Ryzman
Paul’s work is taking him away for 6 to 12 months and he will not be able to continue his regular attendance at meetings. So this is a good opportunity to remind you that all are very welcome to attend and to contribute to the deliberations. Details of the next meeting are set out below.
Next Meeting: Sunday, 4 September at 10.30 in flat no 9.
